本研究では,外国語活動を含む小学校での英語指導を経験した児童の英語の語順(SVO型)に対する認識調査を実施し,学校別,学年別に結果を比較し,その特徴を調べた。参加者は千葉県内の公立小学校2校に在籍する児童144名(5年生52名,6年生92名)である。リスニング・テストでは①語順の正誤を答える問題15問,②単語の並べ替え問題6問への解答を調査した。その結果,①の平均正答率は65.2%,②の平均正答率は40.3%であった。また,文の種類をみると肯定文が最も易しく(正答率71.9%),wh-疑問文が最も難しい(40.4%)という結果になった。語順認識に関する学年による違いを調査した結果,全般的に6年生が5年生の正答率を上回った。特に未知語を含む語順を推測する問題,語順の並べ替え問題に大きな差が見られた。学年間を比較すると,その差は,未知語を含む文の正誤判定,wh-疑問文,句動詞の並べ替え問題に顕著であった。In this study, the authors conducted a listening test for elementary school students who had experienced foreignlanguage activities at elementary school for several years and investigated their listening characteristics interms of their grade and school. The participants were 144 pupils(52 fifth graders and 92 sixth graders)in twopublic schools in Chiba prefecture. The listening test is composed of two sections: 1)15 questions checking thecorrectness of the word order of a sentence in English and 2)six questions putting words in the correct order tomake a sentence. The results show that the average percentage of the questions answered correctly was 65.2%for 1)and 40.3% for 2). Affirmative sentences were the easiest(71.9%)and wh-questions were the most difficultitems(40.4%)for the participants to answer. Concerning their grade of the students, the sixth graders were alwaysbetter than the fifth graders throughout the test. Their scores were significantly better especially in thequestions of judging the correctness of a sentence which includes an unknown word, making the right order ofwh-questions and sentences including a phrasal verb. Depending on the school, a statistically significant differencewas shown in the questions of judging the correctness of a sentence which included an unknown word, puttingwords in the correct order in wh-questions and sentences including a phrasal verb.

本研究の目的は,平成22年度より公立小学校で実施される「外国語活動」を指導できる教員を養成するために,大学が提供すべきことは何かを考えるための基礎調査である。現在,「外国語活動」の指導は学級担任に任せられている。よって,「外国語活動」指導に必要な知識と技術力を有する小学校教員の育成は教員養成課程の必須課題となっている。本稿では,小学校教員養成課程に所属する学生が将来「外国語活動」を十分に指導できるよう,小学校英語1に初めて触れる「総合的な学習の時間(小学校英語入門)」という半期科目に焦点を当て,履修前後の受講者の小学校英語についての知識,および不安感の変化を調査した。The purpose of this study is to conduct a basic survey in order to find out what universities which have teacher-training courses could offer for prospective elementary school teachers to teach Foreign Language Activities. Currently, the Foreign Language Activities lessons are mainly taught by homeroom teachers. Therefore, one of the crucial goals for the teacher-training courses of universities is to help prospective teachers to possess the knowledge and skills necessary for carrying out these lessons. In this paper, students who belong to the elementary school teacher-training course at the Faculty of Education at Chiba University and took a course, "Period for Integrated Study (Introduction for English for Elementary School Students)" were asked about their knowledge and anxiety of English for Elementary School Students at the beginning and at the end of the course and the results were compared.
